The item is in good condition for its age, but it is an antique. The dishes were probably made between 1882 and 1891 in Merklin, Czechoslovakia. The item has wear on the gold trim of the lid and handles as well as dark spots from the manufacturing process on the inside bottom of the tureen. The only manufacturer's mark on these items is the number 7. The photo of the BSM backstamp and the number 7 is from a salad plate of a similiar pattern. Look at the photos for details. 

Packaging will be appropriate for the delicate nature of the item.
