The item is in good condition without chips or cracks, but there are many tiny dots on the amethyst band that have been worn to clear. This lid fits perfectly on the Tiffin King's Crown compote that is 5 1/4" tall with a 5" top diameter. The last picture shows this lid on a ruby compote which is sold separately. Packaging will be appropriate for the delicate nature of the item.
